Aluminium 1100 Forgings are made up of about 99.0% pure aluminum, with minor additions of copper (up to 0.12%), iron, silicon, manganese, and trace amounts of zinc. These elements improve the alloy’s mechanical properties while preserving its excellent ductility and corrosion resistance. Typically, the alloy shows a tensile strength ranging from 90 to 140 MPa and an elongation of 20 to 35%, depending on the temper. While Aluminium 1100 isn’t heat-treatable, it can be strengthened through cold working.
