Aluminium 3003 Forgings mainly consist of aluminum with about 1.0–1.5% manganese, which significantly boosts strength and corrosion resistance compared to pure aluminum. Small amounts of trace elements like copper, iron, and silicon are also included. This alloy typically provides a tensile strength ranging from 110–200 MPa and an elongation of about 10–20%, depending on the temper. While it can’t be heat-treated, it can be work-hardened, offering excellent machinability, good weldability, and remarkable resistance to atmospheric and chemical corrosion, especially in marine and industrial settings.
