Stainless Steel 317 Square Bars and Rods consist mainly of iron along with 18–20% chromium, 11–14% nickel, and 3–4% molybdenum. Due to their exclusive composition of alloy, they have better resistance to corrosion under acidic and chloride-containing conditions. They have tensile strength of 515–700 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of approximately 40%. These bars and rods also possess good resistance against pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress cracking. Together with higher weldability and formability, they work well in corrosive and high-temperature industrial uses.
